You Can Not

You cannot see true beauty. 

You cannot see true strength. 

You mask yourself in that which you think holds value. 

But you don’t have your own truth.

You use and take for granted all love that is given to you.

You skim the surface of all of your emotions, and all those you know.

You find it most important to stay busy.

You never stop to just be.

You do not know the good person inside of you.

So you behave in ways that harm and disrespect.

You get your needs met.

You move on.

You make people feel like they mean next to nothing to you.

You think just your mere attention is all we need.

Your ego has the better of you.

I feel very sorry for you.

You just decide when you are tired of us.

You use us, but don’t have any intention of getting to know us.

You have no concern for our lives or feelings.

You have no compassion for anyone except yourself.

Everyone loves your image.

But you never let anyone see the real you.

If you start to open the door, you close it quickly.

You think you are too old to change, learn, and grow this way.

You just don’t want to grow this way.

Your heart is buried.

It is so sad.

But we have tried and tried to befriend  you.

You just don’t find us worthy.

It is you that are not worthy.

No more of my time.

No more of my caring.

No more of my reaching out to be dismissed, blown off, thrown out, and stood up.

I am worthy of all the love I have to give.

I have decided to be more selective.

You just make your rounds.

You just live on the frozen ice

of the cold ocean that is your heart.

You just keep on using people if that is what you choose.

I’ll have no part in it.

One day, everyone will be used up.

One day, you will need something a little deeper.

That may be the day that there is no one left to fulfill your shallow needs.

And the ones who could have gone deeper with you will be gone.

People with big and smart hearts do not waste time for very long.

We figure it out and move on to our true happiness.
